Global software company SolarWinds is to create 100 jobs at Citygate in Cork city.
Food company RibWorld has opened new premises at Fethard in Co Tipperary, where it is also creating 100 jobs.
Ribworld, which produces cooked meats, hopes to double output over the next three years.
The company’s specialism of rib meat is labour intensive and a 9,000sq.m plant was opened today as part of the expansion.
The company exports 85% of its produce.
Recruitment to fill the 100 jobs will begin soon, with the company expecting to employ 175 people by the end of 2017.
Meanwhile, the BWG group, the owners of Spar, is to invest €100m in store development over the next five years.
The BWG investment will see 50 new stores open around the country between now and 2016 with the creation of 1,000 jobs.
It follows the recent investment by BWG South Africa, which saw it take an 80% holding in the group.
