Ask anyone who’s met Keelin Murphy and they’ll tell you she has a knack for bringing people together for mutual benefit and a passion for helping others learn to make the most of a business connection.
But that’s just the start of what makes Keelin the perfect choice as the new Client Services Manager for both WebPort Global Ireland and the World Trade Centre Dublin. With a background as a Risk Manager for a major bank, a management consultant, a business psychologist, and an entrepreneur, Keelin has a broad range of skills and expertise to offer WPG members.
And she is ready to put these to good use; “I am excited to leverage my business experiences and the team here to help companies succeed”.
As the point of contact for WPG on the Emerald Isle, she says she’s eager to form relationships with members, especially SMEs, and work with them to expand their global reach.
“My role is to understand WebPort Global members’ trade goals and to help them initiate opportunities through our network and portal.”
World Trade Centre Dublin members and clients will benefit from both WPG membership and relationships with member companies in the major World Trade Centers of Boston, Washington, DC, South America, and around the world through the World Trade Center Association.
“We are the European hub of an extensive global network dedicated to help companies grow through international trade.”
One of Keelin’s first agenda items is to meet with business development stakeholders and understand how they can benefit from what WPG has to offer. This is just the beginning.
“I look forward to our team providing support and guidance throughout each member’s international trade journey for many years as they discover new and exciting markets.”
And the international trade possibilities for SMEs are quite promising. The old saying that the world is getting smaller is truer than ever. In a global environment full of technological advances and International Trade Agreements it is increasingly possible for smaller companies to benefit from exporting – especially those in Ireland as over 99.66% of the world’s consumer markets exist outside of its borders.
“One client, an Irish food manufacturer, was able to connect with major food importers and distributors through the WPG network.” Highlighting that WPG provides, “…significant opportunities for small to medium size companies that just were not easily accessible before.”
Keelin and the WPG team firmly believe that SMEs have the business know-how and motivation to take advantage of these new relationships but cannot always identify them easily; “That’s where we can help”.
For companies that prefer a more hands-on partner, WPG offers a premium service that takes a more in-depth look at the business, and WPG works closely with these members to help them be more trade-ready for their international opportunity.
With Keelin on the WPG team, the global network is getting more personal. “When you’re selling your product, your business, or your service, the person you’re selling to is often buying from you because they like you as a person. So, you have to be able to sell yourself as well as your business”.
And Keelin believes, “It’s all about being positive, capitalizing on and selling your strengths, and selling the strengths of your product and your business.”
