Four-hundred new jobs in the technology sector have been announced by eight companies at an IDA Ireland event in Dublin.

The companies from the United States and Europe will create the 400 positions in Cork, Dublin and Galway over the next three years.

The jobs will be created in a range of sectors including software development, telecoms and social media.

Of the eight companies, the largest number of jobs will be created by Atlanta-based digital marketing firm N3 Results, which will bring 100 jobs to Dublin over five years.

Other companies include SimpliVity, Sprout Social, SNP Communications and HedgeGuard.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.
